Ventilation
Buy mechanical ventilation online at the right price: ALPHA & CO stocks the full ventilation range from the Desco, Van Marcke and Versagroup catalogues — extract-only units (system C), heat-recovery units (system D), bathroom extractor fans, decentralised ventilation for room-by-room renovation, rigid and semi-rigid ducting, extract and supply valves, grilles, silencers and balancing accessories. Everything to ventilate a complete home in line with the Belgian NBN D50-001 standard, or simply replace a tired extractor. Good ventilation has become inseparable from energy renovation: the better a house is insulated — especially when switching to a heat pump — the more essential controlled air renewal becomes to avoid condensation and mould. Installers and DIYers will find mutually compatible components here, with volume discounts for professionals. Delivery in Belgium and Luxembourg in 3 to 6 working days, free from €150. Frequently asked questions
System C or system D: which ventilation should I choose?
System C mechanically extracts stale air from wet rooms while fresh air enters through window vents: simple and economical to install. System D supplies and extracts mechanically with heat recovery (up to 90%): superior comfort and savings, but it needs a double duct network and a bigger budget. In light renovations, system C or decentralised units are often the most realistic.
What ventilation flow rate do I need?
The Belgian NBN D50-001 standard requires 3.6 m³/h per m² of floor area in homes, with minimums per room: for example 50 m³/h for a kitchen, bathroom or laundry room and 25 m³/h for a WC. Size the unit on the sum of the extract flows, with a margin for duct pressure losses.
Which ducting should I choose?
Rigid spiral metal ducting offers the lowest pressure losses and easy cleaning: the first choice for long runs. Semi-rigid Ø 75/90 mm ducts are convenient in renovations and connect to manifolds. Avoid compressed flexible hose over long distances: it degrades both airflow and acoustics.
Is ventilation useful with a heat pump?
Yes — essential, in fact: a well-insulated, airtight home, the precondition for heat-pump efficiency, must renew its air mechanically. Heat-recovery ventilation also limits heat losses, reducing the heating power required. The two investments reinforce each other.
Do you deliver units and ducting across Belgium?
