A low-profile tray (3 to 5 cm) sits almost flush with the floor for near-level access, very popular in renovations — but the trap must fit into the screed. A classic raised tray installs on the finished floor with no structural work, and its trap stays accessible. Check the available height for the waste outlet before choosing.
Which concealed frame for a wall-hung WC?
Choose according to the wall first: a self-supporting frame works everywhere, including in front of a lightweight partition. Check the height (standard ~112 cm), the load rating (usually 400 kg) and flush-plate compatibility. Most frames we sell include the concealed cistern and flush mechanism.
What capacity should my water softener have?
Capacity (in litres of resin) depends on your water hardness and household size. In Belgium, water often exceeds 30 °fH: for a family of four, a softener with 20 to 25 litres of resin is a good starting point. A correctly sized unit regenerates less often and uses less salt.
Standard mixer or thermostatic mixer for the shower?
A thermostatic mixer holds the set temperature to the degree and includes a 38 °C safety stop — comfort plus anti-scald protection, recommended for showers and baths, especially with children. A mechanical mixer is cheaper and fine for a basin. Both exist in exposed and concealed versions.
